Recuperating

Between finishing up finals, packing up all my belongings, and dragging all said belongings back to California, my life is kind of in shambles right now. For better illustration, refer below (WARNING: The following picture is not for the faint of heart.)

SHAMBLES, I SAY!!
I haven't even begun unpacking from Baltimore, let alone thought about packing for Denmark. Giving myself a good two-week recovery period before I really start preparing for study abroad.

But how do you prepare yourself for four months of the great unknown...also known as four months away from family, friends, and unlimited texting? There are the friends who are graduating before you come back whom you may never see again; the family members who question your ability to navigate safely from airport to airport, let alone survive independently in Copenhagen; and the one weighing most heavily on my mind --the significant other with whom you promise to Skype everyday despite the six hour time difference between Denmark and Baltimore.

Family...

...and friends!
(Sadly, I could not find a good picture of my roommates.  If only some people were less camera shy...)

But whenever I start to dwell too much on the things I will be leaving behind, I am inevitably reminded of how much I have to look forward to. As someone who's never been to Europe, I am so excited to embrace new cultures, pick up new languages, make new friends, and most of all....EAT!!

Look forward to all the updates! I just watched The Hobbit so I can't possibly end this post without wisdom of Gandalf proportions:

"Home is behind, the world ahead"
